The Block sets sight on iconic rural hamlet for 2024 season

Hit TV show The Block is poised to relocate to one of Victoria’s most iconic havens – but it remains to be seen whether the close-knit community will welcome the series with open arms.

The lifestyle haven of Daylesford in the Hepburn Shire is expected to be the base for next year’s yet to be confirmed series.

Never a show to shy away from drama, The Block is making a potentially controversial move.

The hit renovation program is poised to relocate to one of Victoria’s iconic rural hamlets for its 2024 season.

The lifestyle haven of Daylesford in the Hepburn Shire is expected to be the base for next year’s yet to be confirmed series, with well-placed sources saying all roads will lead to the Central Highlands tourist hot spot.

While Channel 9 has not commented on plans for The Block in 2024, it is understood a plan is being hatched for the show to feature five homes, each being renovated on ¾ acre blocks.

The Block has been scoping out vacant land in and near Daylesford.

Presumably that would mean period homes would be trucked in to the lots and renovated and extended as has happened in past seasons.

A deal for the location of the show is already well advanced, some say. Production is expected to start in February, a little earlier than this season.

Rumours have been swirling since March that the production was looking for a location in the Hepburn area.

While Hepburn Springs was tipped as a possible setting at that stage, it seems the search has now settled bang on in the Daylesford area.

If The Block does head to Daylesford it will be interesting to see if the show is welcomed with open arms by all in the close knit, but consumer savvy township.

“We don’t speculate on the location of future series of The Block,” Nine said on Saturday.

The Block is currently deep into production of this year’s series in Charming Street, East Hampton.

Scott Cam and Shelley Craft are back as hosts of the show with Melbourne real estate ace Marty Fox joining The Block judging panel this year.
