Sharon Johal’s ‘wild ride’ from The Block to a brothel
A former Neighbours star turned The Block contestant has wasted no time shedding her high-vis to take on a new television gig as a brothel owner.

From The Block to a brothel, actor turned reality star Sharon Johal has had a wild ride in recent months.
Johal, who is taking part in Channel 9’s hit TV renovation series this year, is about to be seen across TV, film and streaming.
She is part of the Apple+ TV series Shantaram, which stars Sons of Anarchy pin up Charlie Hunnam, was filmed in Melbourne, and launches on October 14, playing a brothel owner.
Jonal is also about to be seen in cinemas in the new Australian thriller Girl At The Window.
“I am going from playing a detective in the film to being a tradie on The Block and then a brothel owner in Shantaram,” Johal said.
“I am really proud to be a part of Shantaram. It was a compelling role, if conflicting.
“I had to speak the mother language of Hindi, and relearn that, and also it is a different dialect in the slums.
“Finally I feel like, maybe, Australia gets to see the multifaceted personality that I have and the abilities that I have and I’d love to showcase that more.”
Johal has wasted no time in shedding her high vis workwear and thermals from The Block, orchestrating a red carpet blitz on Melbourne this past week.
Showing extraordinary social endurance, a high tolerance for canapes, and a vast on trend wardrobe, there was not a media wall that Johal missed in the past seven days.
She kicked off last Sunday attending the Indian Film Festival awards, on Monday she was a photographer’s favourite at the opening night of Hairspray at the Regent Theatre, and next up she was kicking goals at the launch of the Disney+ series Fearless: The Inside Story Of The AFLW.
Then there was the Faith Jewels Whispers of Love Collection launch on Thursday, Friday saw her double dip with a brunch at the Swarovski boutique before attending a Grant Burge wine function.
Yesterday she swapped her glam for designer sweats at the Jaggad/Australian Ballet collection launch.
“It has been a busy week,” she observed.
