From the Winter Ball at Mount Buller, to the Red Ball at Crown, to the St Kilda best and fairest, Melbourne model and dancer Mikaela Jade Schreuder has been hard to miss on red carpets of late.
She is ticking off a couple of titles: performer, social butterfly and wag.
Schreuder turned heads in a daring black gown at the Trevor Barker Medal night during the week, which she attended with her partner, St Kilda player Mason Wood.
Chalk them up as a new footy glamour couple.
Schreuder has an interesting TV link for fans of classic Aussie quiz and game shows.
She is the daughter of Celeste Billinge who was one of the hostesses on The Price Is Right with Ian Turpie and went on to work in “the gift shop” on Sale of the Century during the era when it was hosted by Tony Barber and Alyce Platt.
Back in the 1980s and 1990s the glamorous hostesses on those shows had huge public followings and were celebrities in their own right.
That role has evaporated from Australian TV with arguably the Deal Or No Deal suitcase girls being the last examples of that type of gig within a quiz or game show.
Billinge is clearly happy with Schreuder’s choice of partner.
“So proud of Mason Wood winning the Robert Harvey award at the St Kilda presentation night,” she shared on social media.
“Well deserved and so proud of my beautiful girl being his partner.”
Wood collected the Robert Harvey award as best clubman.
