Could fashionista and former WAG Nadia Bartel be planning to turn the tables on paparazzi lurking outside her house?
Bartel, who was at her home rather than Flemington on Saturday as the VRC’s fashion ambassador, has spoken of her distaste for the handful of shadowy snappers who chart her movements.
She has become particularly popular with the freelance photographer brigade since her marriage breakdown but it is not attention she courts. Bartel has toyed with the idea of turning the tables on the paps.
“I have thought about doing that before,” she told Nova breakfast.
While some embrace the drama, Bartel would much prefer life without her ever present camera toting “friends”.
“I hate it,” she said.
“I just think it is so cringey. It is just the worst when you are out with the kids.
“It is hard because everybody thinks you know they are there, but I have never seen them apart from once or twice.
“For me it is not that crazy, they camp out at the house and they know how far away to follow
“It is really scary when the photos come out and you are with your kids at the park and you have been there for three hours and you can see when you arrived and when you left.
‘‘It is not a good feeling.”
Bartel split with her husband, footballer turned commentator Jimmy Bartel, in August 2019. The former couple, who have two children, recently sold their family home in St Kilda West for $3.9 million.
