Mick Molloy held to pledge to get Kevin Bartlett cut after Tigers win

Tigers tragic Mick Molloy made a rash promise to cut his hair like Kevin Bartlett if his beloved team triumphed in the Grand Final. Now his Triple M teammates are holding him to his pledge.

Tigers tragic Mick Molloy is being held to his promise that he would get the full “The KB” hairdo should Richmond prevail in the Grand Final.

His rash promise to embrace the iconic, but unquestionably bold, hairstyle sported by Tiger great Kevin Bartlett throughout his playing career has not been forgotten, particularly by vanquished Geelong supporters.

Bartlett’s hairstyle was notable for being bald on top with a fringe around his head that could be used as a comb-over in low wind.

Molloy will have to get crafty with the clippers to achieve a “KB.”

While he tried to dodge the hair issue on Monday, his Triple M Kennedy Molloy team mates held him to his surprising pledge.

“Unfortunately the barber shops are still closed,” Molloy said

“No they are not. There is one about 20 feet from where we are sitting,” countered ”Dangerous” Dave Williams on Monday.

“I think it is fair that you go through with the KB, so you shave your hair and just have a few strands on the side.”

“I think I might do it in the downstairs bidet,” Molloy conceded.

Molloy said not being able to attend the Grand Final to see the Tigers triumph was heartbreaking.

“It was terrible, it was terrible,” he said.

“But you know what, sometimes they are the ones you remember as well.

“I just love the Tigers. Preceded by 30 years of drought you know what you are experiencing (when they win) so you don’t take it for granted.”

He also said more night time Grand Finals were on the cards.

“I think it is inevitable and I don’t say that lightly. I know it has been a tradition,” he said.

“The biggest problem for me is staying sober until 7pm. You know what I mean, you go, ‘Oh, I have not paced myself very well here’.

“I do think it is inevitable and don’t think it is that big a deal. You still get to huddle around the TV, you still get to make a week of it.

“As they say ‘anywhere, anytime’ and I reckon it is a great motto in the modern age to go ‘we will just play wherever we have to’.”
