Photographs emerged last week of Married At First Sight bride Martha Kalifatidis partying with stars Sam Smith and Tristan Thompson in LA minus her MAFS wedding ring. This is what drove her to “escape” to the US.

The pressure of the Married At First Sight bubble drove Melbourne’s Martha Kalifatidis to flee to America to party with Sam Smith and Tristan Thompson.

Photographs emerged last week of Kalifatidis clubbing in LA minus her MAFS wedding ring earlier this month.

“I just went over there to get away and have some fun,” Kalifatidis said while wrapping herself around MAFS husband Michael Brunelli at the Blue Diamond Ball at Caulfield on Thursday.

“It was supposed to be an escape, just to get away from all the drama for a few days.

“I was out at a club and Sam Smith was there and we just happened to rub shoulders. Drake was having dinner behind me at one of the restaurants and I saw Tristan Thompson at a club.”

She said she lost her wedding ring on her LA trip.

“On my flight over to LA, I took off all my rings and put them in a little soap box for safe keeping and I have lost them,” she said.

“They were all my most sentimental pieces; my grandmother’s wedding and engagement rings, my parents’ wedding ring, my wedding ring. I have not found them yet.”

The couple made no secret of their amorous feelings at the gala, with Kalifatidis spending much of the dinner sitting on Brunelli’s lap.
