Kookai founder Danielle Vagner expected to be charged over drink driving

CHARGES are pending against Melbourne fashion identity Danielle Vagner who allegedly smashed her luxury four-wheel-drive into a South Yarra home before driving off on the rims of her front tyres with police on foot pursuing the slow-moving vehicle.
Vagner, the founder of hugely popular fashion label Kookai, was believed to be driving her black Range Rover when she hit the front of a residence in Cromwell St, South Yarra, on Tuesday afternoon.
Despite the vehicle sustaining damage to its front tyres, its front bumper bar dragging on the ground and steering wheel airbag deployed, Vagner allegedly continued her journey for another kilometre before she came to a halt in a side street with two police in pursuit on foot.
The fashion boss, 53, from South Yarra, was arrested and allegedly blew .099 — almost twice the legal limit.
She was released after questioning and has not yet been charged over the incident, but has emptied all her social media accounts. She did not return calls on Saturday.

Victoria Police confirmed a 53-year-old South Yarra woman was expected to be charged on summons with drink-driving and reckless conduct likely to cause serious injury.
Vagner and Robert Cromb opened Australia’s first Kookai franchise in 1992 and the brand has become a juggernaut on local scene with its on trend offerings for it girls.
In March Vagner was sharing the spotlight with Victoria’s Secret model Kelly Gale who jetted into Melbourne to star in Kookai’s 2018 Winter Collection launch.

Ms Vagner did not return calls.
