Taylor Swift mania continues to grow with the desperate hunt for tickets to her Australian shows, fuelled by fevered tween and teen fans, seeing parents make wild moves.
Swift will perform three sold out shows at the Melbourne Cricket Ground in February and there are devastated young Swifties around the state still hoping and wishing for a miracle to deliver them tickets.
The rare chance to nab two A-reserve tickets to Swift’s Eras Tour show at the MCG on February 17, 2024 was met with frenzied bidding at the Robert Allenby/Challenge Golf Dinner at Crown on Monday.
Multiple bidders jumped into the fray pushing the price for the two tickets in the highly desirable Section C6 to $9000.
A final bid took the price to a cool $10,000 where auctioneer Daniel D’Assisi from Noel Jones knocked it down to the relieved bidder.
The money raised went to the Challenge cancer charity.
Another notable auction item was the chance for four people to play 18 holes at four prestigious Florida golf courses.
The golf trip, organised by the US based Allenby, included rounds at Trump Jupiter in Florida, Trump Doral in Florida, Trump Palm Beach in Florida and TPC Sawgrass in Florida.
Allenby has been supporting the Challenge fundraising golf day and dinner for 31 years.
The golf experience was sold for $24,000.
