Gogglebox’s blokes of reason Adam Densten and Symon Lovett are quitting the show.
The pair have revealed they intend to leave the Gogglebox couch at the end of the year but their TV days may not be over.
It is believed Foxtel is developing a project for the Melbourne-based boys.
“Our mums told us that if we watched TV for too long, our eyes would go square so we’ve figured it’s time for us to leave Gogglebox,” Densten said on Saturday.
“We got on the show by having a beer at the pub on a Thursday and thought it might take us to the Logies, and it did, so we’ve already been very very lucky.”
“We’ll miss everyone ... We really can’t thank everyone enough for letting two idiots hang out on the couch together for so long,” Lovett said.
“We’ve had jobs on the show for five years now. That’s longer than any other job we’ve had in our life so it’s really sad to say goodbye. And that means we’re also now unemployed so if there is anyone reading this, we’ve got plenty of time on our hands.”
Densten and Lovett’s departure has left a vacancy on the Gogglebox couch, a tempting gig that involves watching TV and passing comment.
The show is a serious hit for Channel 10 and Foxtel.
Foxtel will be holding auditions at Westfield Fountain Gate in Melbourne on November 28 from 5pm-8pm, December 3 from 12pm to 3pm and December 5 from 5pm to 8pm.
