FORMER Neighbours star Olympia Valance has called out the current cult of “ink before you think” and urged people not to get tattoos.
Valance, 25, who owned the red carpet at last Sunday’s Logie Awards in a showstopping Con Ilio gown, is in the long and painful process of having a large ivy-like tattoo removed from the right side of her torso.
“I got this stupid tattoo when I was 16; it is down the side of my body and I want it gone,” Valance said.

“I hate looking at it and it is very painful to get rid of, but I am doing it and I am going through the process.”
Valance’s advice for anyone thinking of getting inked is simple.
“Do not get tattoos,” she said.
“I could not stress it enough.
“You think you want to get a tattoo and be rebellious and do all this naughty stuff, but don’t do it, don’t do it, because getting rid of it is so much more painful.”
Valance, who is filming Channel 10’s drama Playing For Keeps in Melbourne, understands the value of a red carpet moment better than most of her contemporaries and her Logies gown made her one of the evening’s most talked about and Instagrammed guests.
