Triple M’s Mick Molloy is flushed with a sense of relief after emerging victorious in “Dunnygate”, a bladder-busting battle over his wish to wee at will when kicking off his daily Drive show.
Molloy, who hosts the Kennedy Molloy drive show with Jane Kennedy, has been p---ed off over his inability to access the male toilets in the Triple M office prior to his show’s weekday kick-off at 4pm because of a cleaning schedule.
He was spouting about his peeing problem during the week, giving a fair spray to listeners and an assistant producer.
“I have made a profound change here at Triple M,” Molloy said on-air on Wednesday.
“We do a show from 4pm to 6pm and beforehand I use the facilities.
“Every time I go, there is cleaning in progress. That is the big sign, and there is effectively police tape up the front (of the toilet).
“I finally had enough after five days in a row and (last Friday) burst in (to the toilets) and there is no one in there.
“The next day (last Monday) it happened again.”
Molloy’s lavatory lament was heard by his colleagues, and the cleaning schedule rejigged.
“I have got a memo. It was official and went around to everyone,” Molloy said.
It read: “Hi team, male toilets on level one will now be available and the cleaners will not be cleaning between 3.45pm and 4.15pm each day — Mickey. Hope this fixes the problem. Any questions let me know.”
Molloy said he was not having a go at the office cleaners, just their schedule.
“They are doing their job. I am doing mine,” he said.
