Former footy player Daniel Gorringe says Big Brother saved his relationship with his girlfriend, Ana Cannon.
It was Cannon who encouraged the former Gold Coast Suns and Carlton player to apply for Big Brother, although they split at the end of last year.
As they were sorting out their issues this year Gorringe got word he was going into the house.
The reality TV separation was the “best thing we could have done,” Cannon said.
“It was however long of forced silence and it really just made us both realise that we are meant to be together,” she said.
Gorringe said by day two of filming he was clear that “Ana was the one I wanted in my life and I did not want anything else.”
“Coming out of the experience, because there was that period of silence, I didn’t know if she was on the same page as me, if she wanted the same thing,” he said.
Cannon added: “Which is exactly how I was feeling.”
The Melbourne-based pair are very much back together.
A week into Big Brother Gorringe has already made headlines for trying to melt an ice block by urinating on it.
“I did not think I would be in front of an ice block trying to force some liquid out of my bladder to try and melt it to win a challenge,” he said.
“The whole thing has been a crazy ride so far.”
