Abbie Chatfield rules out return to radio, hates Melbourne

FBoy Island star Abbie Chatfield has ruled out a return to radio as she hit up Melbourne’s social scene, despite admitting she “hates” the city.

FBoy Island star Abbie Chatfield has emphatically ruled out returning to radio – ever – describing it as a “nightmare.”

Chatfield quit her Hot Nights With Abbie show on the Hit Network late last year and said she now wakes up happy every day thinking ‘I don’t have radio today.’

“Absolutely no way in hell would I be back on radio, no way in hell would I ever do radio again, it is a nightmare,” Chatfield said.

“So no, never again. I love not doing radio, it makes me so happy.

“I had too much on, I had radio, podcasts, TV, The Masked Singer, everything, so it was good to take a big thing out.

“I am choosing to spend time with people I love, rather than earning money.”

Chatfield was a guest at the National Gallery of Victoria’s spectacular Bowery Ball on Saturday night.

The event, attended by 400 guests, was an extraordinary blitz of creativity, independent fashion, self expression and inclusion.

Chatfield embraced the daring element of fashion wearing a near see-through black lace gown.

Chatfield has had a bit of a love-hate relationship with Melbourne; in the past it has not been a town filled with good memories for her.

“I hate Melbourne,” she laughed.

“I hate Melbourne because everything bad happens in Melbourne to me.

“My dog died, two of the lockdowns happened when I was here for a day, I almost got trapped here twice (because of the lockdowns), I got Covid in Melbourne for the first time.

“Anyway, I am very glad to be back and I am enjoying it this time. I came back for this (the Bowery Ball) and I am very glad I did.”

Chatfield will be at the Grand Prix on Sunday.

She has recently finished filming the second season of FBoy Island.

“It was even better than last season. It is f***ing wild,” she said.
