Woody Whitelaw has lifted the lid on the ugly spat between Domenica Calarco and Kerri-Anne Kennerley after having a front-row seat to the drama.
The radio host, this week evicted from the jungle on I’m a Celebrity … Get Me Out of Here!, says he is siding with Dom after the heated exchange that saw Kennerley quit the show.
“Dom fully erupted like a volcano, she called her a c-bomb and I was sitting there eating animal testicles so it wasn’t a bad distraction,” Whitelaw said.
“As soon as she said it the whole set went into meltdown. (Hosts) Chris and Julia didn’t know where to look.
“She was the first one to say using the c-bomb went too far but Dom was well within her rights to get emotional. It was in the middle of a trial which meant whether the camp could eat or not. I’m on Dom’s side but she shouldn’t have called her that.”
Whitelaw said it was odd seeing someone there who didn’t want to give it a go.
“I’ve got nothing against KAK and I think she’s incredible and what she’s achieved is second to none,” he said.
“But seeing how she was, I don’t know why she did it and it was weird she didn’t even try an animal testicle. I can say this with full confidence, it’s actually quite nice. She liked the camp life part of it but maybe didn’t know trials and was in and out like a flash.
“When she realised what the show was about and how much everyone cared about going through hell to get food for everyone, she rightly removed herself from the jungle.”
Whitelaw’s exit was somewhat of a surprise given the KIIS FM drive host was considered a favourite to win.
But he said it was tough missing his daughter and fiancé who are joining him now in South Africa.
“I didn’t expect to go deep in the competition at all,” he said.
“I don’t see myself as a celebrity so right from the start I thought I’ll be one of the first to go.
“It was the hardest thing I’ve ever done, I was even considering saying the words (get me out of here) thinking about (daughter) Remi, I got overcome with emotion.”
