Channel 7 weather presenter Jane Bunn has explained her recent slip of the tongue after going viral for her forecast ahead of the Dreamtime footy match.

Bunn made the comment that it would be a wet weekend and a “wet dreamtime at the MCG” which amused viewers.

“I don’t write a script, the entire back half is ad lib and the wet weather forecast people at home found amusing,’’ Bunn said.

“You get instant feedback thanks to social media.

“When we went back to the desk (sport presenter) Tim Watson had put his script to his face and at that point I see what I had done. Things can happen in live television.

“Once before I said it would be a dry hump day which got a reaction.”

Bunn is forecasting a fun weekend ahead as she steps out for the Two Sisters Foundation Winter Ball at Malvern Town Hall on Saturday night.

Two Sisters Foundation was founded by Ellie Rogers and Lisa Bardas who have raised millions to support lifesaving research into breast and ovarian cancers; helping to better understand its causes, improve treatments and work towards a cure.

Bunn is an ambassador along with many big names including Bec Judd, Lana Wilkinson, Abbey Holmes, Daria Varlamova and Joey Scandizzo.

The black tie gala last year transformed Mt Buller, James Bond-style, with the sellout event raising a further $1m.

“This is the first year I’m supporting this foundation and when I heard what it’s about, I jumped at it,’’ Bunn said.

“Four women each day will be diagnosed and it’s a huge thing to raise funds and fast track research and support.

“They are hoping to raise $5m over the next five years and it sounds like Saturday will be quite the who’s who and the Town Hall is immersed in theatre and excitement.”
