The new Triple M breakfast show has been confirmed with Wil Anderson, Dale “Daisy” Thomas and Rosie Walton starting on Monday.

As revealed by the Herald Sun on Tuesday, the trio will replace The Marty Sheargold Show,

running until October 4, with a permanent show to be announced at a later date.

Dale Thomas, who has impressed in footy special comments and filling in on The Rush Hour, is making his morning radio debut.

“I’m pumped to be setting an early alarm and having a laugh with the Triple M family every day for breakfast,’’ said Thomas, who is also a footy commentator on Channel 7.

Anderson joined Triple M’s Hot Breakfast juggernaut in late 2017, replacing Mick Molloy, and departed at the end of 2019.

Walton was a mainstay on the show which ended in November 2020 after 11 years, and she is regarded as Triple M royalty.

“I grew up listening to Triple M Melbourne and it’s a privilege to be part of the station I love,’’ Walton said.

The show will have regular guest appearances from Melbourne Football Club captain Max Gawn, AFLW star Sarah Hosking, with more to be revealed.

“I am a huge fan of Rosie, Daisy, and Triple M,’’ Anderson said.

“I’m ready to take off the sub vest and help the team charge towards a run deep into the finals. I reckon listeners are going to love what we’ve got ahead.”

Last Thursday, Southern Cross Austereo revealed Sheargold’s show would move to a national afternoon show in the 3-4pm timeslot from mid July.

He has bowed out with his best ratings result of 6.6 since starting on breakfast in January 2021.

With that surprise development there was talk about Triple M returning to its tried and true formula of footy.

The Rush Hour with James Brayshaw and Billy Brownless has returned strong ratings results, as has the footy coverage.

Speculation swirled that Mick Molloy and Dave Hughes, who are both heard in Sydney on breakfast radio, could be part of the mix.

Hughes may well be in discussions for another role after his Hughesy, Ed and Erin show on 2DayFM bombed to 3.6 in the ratings released on Tuesday.
