Melbourne businesswoman and former footy WAG Nadia Bartel is stepping out of her comfort zone to tackle a new challenge on national television.
Bartel, who shares two sons with her ex-husband, former Geelong star Jimmy Bartel, joins a host of a big stars for the new season of Dancing With the Stars.
“I’ve never had any dance training as a child so am excited to throw myself into something that’s totally different and very much out of my comfort zone,’’ Bartel said.
“I’ve always loved Dancing With The Stars. I have always watched the show and love the passion and commitment of all of the dancers. I love to dance, especially with my boys around the house, so the idea of doing this show was so exciting.”
Bartel, who is the co-founder of fashion brand Henne, will commute to Sydney for the show.
“Training is much harder than I thought it would be and it’s been a bit of a juggle trying to fit it in with my schedule with the boys and work, but I’m loving it,’’ she said.
Other headliners taking to the dancefloor include former footy champions Shane Crawford and Ben Cousins, four-time Gold Logie winner Lisa McCune and chef Julie Goodwin.
“This show is so far out of my wheelhouse, so different to anything I have ever done before, but I feel like these opportunities have to be taken. Life is too short to say no to something like this,” Goodwin said.
Pop singer Samantha Jade, SAS Australia’s Ant Middleton, Olympian and former Senator Nova Peris, chef Hayden Quinn, comedian Nikki Osborne, Home and Away actor James Stewart and Better Homes and Gardens presenter Adam Dovile are also part of the line-up.
Former I’m a Celeb co-host and vet Dr Chris Brown will co-host the show alongside Sonia Kruger.
Channel 7 has yet to announce an air date.
