Time On is your Monday wrap-up of all the footy gossip from the weekend
Umpires, Petracca or poor kicking weren’t trending on Twitter on Monday night — it was Ash Barty.
The retired tennis ace was seen on Channel 7’s coverage sitting in the stands with a Richmond scarf on. And it was pointed out that it was a special day, her 26th birthday.
Her appearance had everyone talking, as it did a few years ago at the Gabba when she was seen in the stands downing a beer.
Best call of the night went to Richmond AFLW star Jess Hosking, who posted a picture of herself with Barty and the caption: “Putting pen to paper”.
While Barty’s next move has been revealed as golfer at an exhibition event in the US, could her love of footy lure her to Punt Road?

Laidley races to brother’s hospital bed
Dani Laidley is praying for the safe recovery of her brother, who was involved in a bad motorbike accident in Perth.
Laidley made the trip back home to be at his bedside, describing Paul as his biggest supporter.
“Long day at the hospital for us with my brother, he’s in our prayers at present. Thanks mum for the roast dinner. Thank you to all who have contacted us.”
Laidley and partner Donna Leckie headed back to Scarborough from Melbourne.
Former premiership player and coach Laidley explained her close connection with her brother.
“Our sibling bond reached it’s greatest moments days before we went home,’’ she wrote.
“He’s been my greatest supporter my brother. I’ve never been more grateful for the time we had before this horrific accident. I love you my brother. Your (sic) strong keep fighting for us and our family. #brothersisterlove.”
Stringer’s helping hand
Abby Gilmore has paid tribute to Jake Stringer for his support while she recovers from a ruptured Achilles.
Gilmore and the Essendon star share two daughters, Arlo and Milla. Stringer has a son, River, with his partner Taylor McVeigh and is believed to have welcomed another child with McVeigh in recent weeks.
When asked during an Instagram Q&A about Jake’s support, Gilmore replied: “Very helpful taking our girls off my hands for the second week of holidays haha! That’s really all I can do there’s no magic trick just rest and literally lay on my back for this first two weeks”.
The couple split in 2016.

• Great to see this throwback by a fan in the stands at Ballarat.
A vintage Bulldogs jumper and a thermos.
• Also good to hear Brian Taylor back on the box after losing his voice last weekend.
We’re told he had a case of the flu.
• Which experienced on-air commentary duo is still feeling some tension after both were desperate to call a history-making feat?
