Don’t expect to see a photo of Fox Sports presenter Tara Rushton and NRL star Cooper Cronk’s five-month-old son any time soon.

While some new mums spam their social media accounts with baby photos, a quick scroll through Rushton’s Instagram feed and you’ll only see the back of baby Lennox’s head.

The notoriously private power couple said they’ve chosen not to share photos of baby Lennox’s face on social media.

“We just wanted to really savour this special time with Lennox and immerse ourselves in the new parent bubble and save him for ourselves and loved ones,” Rushton, 34, said at the launch of new birth suites at North Shore Private Hospital, where Lennox was born.

“He doesn’t have a choice over what we post so we wanted to respect his privacy too.”

While the “sharenting” phenomenon — a term given to parents over-sharing content of their children — is rife, more mums and dads are becoming aware of the consequences of creating a digital footprint of their kids.

Parenting psychologist Michael Carr-Gregg believes the pair’s approach is smart.

“I think there’s a real issue with ‘sharenting’ these days,” he said.

“Your child’s image should never be posted in a public place because of all the facial recognition technology these days — you just don’t know how it could be used.”

“In my opinion, it’s better for parents to be sharing images of their kids with only family and friends, rather than in a public forum.”

Speaking candidly about becoming a mother for the first time last July, Rushton said: “It is definitely our greatest adventure yet. Life feels fuller, a little sleepier, but much richer, vibrant and more full of purpose with our little man in it … I wouldn’t have it any other way.”

NRL star and now doting dad Cronk, 35, added: “Life’s never been better.”

“It’s challenging and truly rewarding at the same time … We’ve loved every minute of it, even the sleepless nights.”

The couple, who married in December 2017, are now ambassadors for the North Shore Private Hospital, which was where Lennox was born and also where Cronk recently underwent shoulder surgery after the Roosters halfback famously played last year’s grand final with a broken scapula.

Rushton gushed over her pregnancy experience at the hospital, which launched the new, state-of-the-art, luxury birthing suites this week.

“Our family was incredibly touched and grateful to continue our relationship with North Shore Private — a place which left a profound, lasting impression on our lives,” she said.

Of his shoulder operation, Cronk said: “It was a pretty delicate surgery but I’ve had no complications whatsoever.”

“I’m back in full training now and definitely on track for round one.”
