Sex and the City creator Candace Bushnell has praised Australian men as “attractive” and “manly”.
Bushnell, who is set to tour Down Under for the first time with her acclaimed one-woman show, says she hopes to learn more.
“I think people feel that Australian men are quite attractive and very manly,’’ Bushnell said.
“I’m sure they’re fabulous and I don’t really know too much, but I’m really looking forward to going back to Australia.”
One of the best-selling author’s iconic characters is Mr Big, alongside leading lady looking for love, Carrie Bradshaw.
“I’m sure Melbourne has its own Mr Big, I feel we all have a little bit of those characters in us,’’ Bushnell said.
“It’s wonderful that Sex and the City is so big all around the world and I’m very grateful.
“Last time I was in Melbourne I went to a horse race, it was quite fun and I had a wonderful time.”
Bushnell said she’s a fan of the rebooted series, And Just Like That, which is currently shooting its third series in New York.
“I think it’s terrific, I’m not involved with the show but I love the clothes, love the characters, it’s great,’’ she said.
“They had to kill off Big because Carrie needs to have her storyline. Unfortunately here’s a happy couple with no conflict, TV needs drama.
“We all thought these things only happened in NYC but then we realised it happens everywhere, including Australia.”
Bushnell’s show, True Tales of Sex, Success and Sex and the City, comes to Hamer Hall on December 10.
“I talk about the lessons I’ve learned about relationships, we play a little game called real or not and there’s lots of shoes, lots of Manolos (Manolo Blahnik),’’ Bushnell said.
“It’s a really fun girls night out.”
