The former partner of Australian actor Vince Colosimo says she is still in shock after claims emerged that he was living a double life.
Filmmaker Sabella Sugar learnt more details this week of another woman who has claimed to be Colosimo’s secret lover for 20 years.
The woman alleges to the Daily Mail that she had provided Colosimo with up to $50,000 in cash over the term of their relationship and when Sugar confronted him about her existence was told it was an obsessed fan.
She spoke out anonymously last year and claims Colosimo is still “delusional”.
Sugar told the Herald Sun: “I thought I’d learned my lesson after leaving the abusive relationship I left seven years ago, thinking I’ve made better choices, but clearly I still need a better radar when it comes to men.”
Sugar also posted a picture on social media with the pointed words: “And just like that... my world turned upside down. When you have to ask the question if the truth is the lie or the the (sic) lie is the truth...”
She then captioned it with hashtags ‘no words’, ‘truth’, ‘lies’, ‘blurred lines’.
The couple are still on some VIP guest lists for top events and stepped out together recently for a theatre opening night.
Sugar is well known in social circles and was behind the movie Girl At The Window, which featured Colosimo, Ella Newton and Radha Mitchell.
Colosimo, who has starred on Underbelly and in the Wog Boy movies, was last month given a reprieve over $58,000 in unpaid fines after convincing a magistrate he was mentally ill and broke and couldn’t pay.
Colosimo was facing time behind bars but Magistrate Guillaume Bailin ruled that out and instead wiped all but $3,858.60 worth of the 56-year-old’s fines, which he was ordered to pay off through 101 hours of community service over 12 months.
He was supported through the case by Sugar who was by his side when he appeared in court via videolink.
Colosimo, who has a daugher from a previous relationship with actor Jane Hall and a son with actor Diana Glenn, has also dated Neighbours star Kym Valentine.
It is believed he has been getting help and therapy to deal with his ongoing issues.
Over the past eight years Colosimo has been in court for a string of matters, beginning in 2016 when he was pulled over with a small amount of the drug ice in his car.
Last October he walked free from court with a fine on drug and unlicensed driving charges.
