Tony Jones is still struggling to live down one of live TV’s most awkward moments. He once threatened to walk off set if the Bec Judd kiss was ever shown again, and on Sunday came good on his promise.

Tony Jones threatened to walk off set if his awkward kiss attempt on Bec Judd was shown again on air.
And the presenter followed through on Sunday when footage of the viral 2016 moment was replayed again on the Sunday Footy Show.
“What did I say,” a furious Jones said. “I’ll show you how much of a joke this is. I told you. You can’t help yourself.”
Jones walked off set during a live interview with rugby league legend Billy Slater, leaving Nathan Brown, Matthew Lloyd and Billy Brownless to finish the interview.
Brownless said: “We thought he was joking but he's not coming back.”
Footage then showed Jones on the phone in the Channel 9 corridor before he headed for the exit.
When Jones returned he was still unhappy, but the theatre of the moment was on full show.
“I’m only back because management said I have to come back,’’ Jones said to Brown.
“But on the proviso you don’t talk to me again.”
Later on when pressed about his actions by the panel, Jones said he doesn’t want to see the incident again.
In March this year he made the threat about showing the footage of when he attempted to kiss Judd after she presented her final weather segment before going on maternity leave.
“I’m fine,’’ Jones said.
“I don’t like the whole kiss thing being replayed. I genuinely don’t like that and I was surprised to see it. I’m not angry, just disappointed.
“There’s a lot of theatre on this show and we do get on like a house on fire.
“We give as good as we get, but we will not be seeing that again.”
