Nova breakfast ends year on a high, 3AW still reigns in the morning market
Nova is celebrating after leapfrogging to No.1 in the breakfast radio ratings. The final survey of the year was also a winner for 3AW and GOLD FM.

The radio ratings year ended on a high for Nova’s Chrissie, Sam and Browny who are the No.1 team on the FM breakfast dial.
Chrissie Swan, Sam Pang and Jonathan Brown recorded an 8.2 per cent share, ahead of last survey’s leader, GOLD FM’s Christian O’Connell on 7.8.
Triple M’s Hot Breakfast climbed 1.5 to be the next best on 7.0. Comedian Wil Anderson is departing the team of Eddie McGuire and Luke Darcy.
KIIS FM saw its biggest movement in breakfast, with Jase and PJ rising marginally to 6.4 per cent.
On the AM dial, 3AW was still a clear leader on 20.2, while ABC recorded a slight rise to 10.6 with outgoing hosts Jacinta Parsons and Sami Shah.

In FM drive, GOLD FM retained its lead over FOX FM.
SEN recorded rises across the board except in breakfast that fell by 0.1 to 3.8.
Overall, 3AW held a 15.6 per cent share in the Melbourne market with some changes set for next year.
John Burns will leave breakfast while Denis Walter moves from afternoons to nights.
GOLD FM was still the most popular FM station overall.
