Mikayla Crisp and Collingwood star Jack reveal baby joy

Mikayla Crisp, wife of Collingwood star Jack, has revealed the couple is expecting their third child — with a due date deep in finals territory.

Mikayla Crisp says her little family will be complete after announcing she and husband, Collingwood star Jack Crisp, are expecting their third child.

The couple who share two daughters, Lilah and Sloane, have kept the pregnancy secret until now.

“I am coming up to 19 weeks,’’ Mikayla told the Herald Sun.

“I found out quite early because I just had a feeling, mother’s instinct and intuition. It was probably about five weeks, I just knew, and that was February.

“This is the first pregnancy I share publicly actually.

“It was just nice to have the first bit to ourselves.

“I hope we surprise some people, it’s been a fun little secret to keep. Sometimes I forget, we’ve been so busy as a family.”

Mikayla is due in early October — a potential clash should ladder leaders Collingwood go deep into September again.

“I was over (term) with Lilah and with Sloane a week early … I might not make the Copeland Trophy night or if I do I’ll be waddling around,’’ she said.

“It’s really good timing, especially getting used to having three, Jack will be at home and he’ll get the first few months of the baby. I said to him he’ll be on night duty.”

The couple, who married in 2016, are keeping the gender a surprise.

“We found out with the girls, this one we thought because it’s probably our last we’ll have a nice little surprise at the end,’’ Mikayla said.

“The girls are hoping for another girl. Lilah said to me if it’s a boy it’s OK, I’ll still do his make up.

“All you can ask for is a healthy baby, we’re so blessed to have the girls and feel so blessed to have another one.”

Mikayla, who is setting up her Windsor studio to begin work as a make up artist, has been covering up her growing belly.

“I’ve just been wearing a lot of baggy clothes,’’ she said.

“I thought it’s probably time to say something because I can’t hide it anymore.

“I can’t wait to see the girls be big sisters. Sloaney is very excited and they’re the perfect ages (five and three) to help out and dote over the baby. We’ll hopefully be in our new house by then so it’ll be a really nice off-season.”

Mikayla will appear on Sunday at the Mother’s Day Classic as an ambassador in support of breast cancer research ahead of the Magpies taking on GWS at the MCG.

Widely praised for her authenticity in sharing her life on social media, Mikayla said her marriage is stronger than ever after dealing with a recent public social media storm.

“I think pregnancy is hard enough as it is on the body and the emotions and then to have to relive something from the past especially when you want a time of joy and celebration, it’s a bit difficult for anyone,’’ she said.

“Everything has been as good as it can be. Jack and myself, our relationship, is as strong as ever. We’re just really excited now for adding another baby to the family and we’ve got a lot of things to look forward to.

“We’re a very ordinary married couple and we ride the highs and lows like everyone does.

“We’re living a wonderful life, we’re very blessed with what we get to do. But when it comes down to it we’re very normal people and we really pride ourselves on that.

“It’s been an overwhelming amount of support and kindness, from strangers as well. I feel so grateful and blessed to have such a wonderful community around me. I’m proud of what we’ve built.”
