Melbourne richlister James Hachem weds Antonia Apostolou in stunning Lake Como wedding

The son of poker king Joe Hachem has tied the knot with influencer wife Antonia Apostolou in a dream Lake Como wedding attended by Jackson Warne, Campbell Brown and Stake.com co-founder Bijan Tehrani.

Another week another high society Italian wedding.

No we aren’t talking about Jeff Bezos nuptials to Lauren Sanchez in Venice, but our very own Melbourne richlister, entrepreneur James Hachem.

The son of poker king Joe Hachem tied the knot to his influencer wife Antonia Apostolou at picturesque Italian lakeside Villa Pizzo, with panoramic views outlooking Lake Como on Friday.

Wearing a stunning lace creation and veil from Melbourne couturiers J’Aton, the couple said “I do” in front of more than 140 guests including Jackson Warne, AFL’s Campbell Brown, crypto king Bijan Tehrani and bar tsar Nick Russian and influencer wife Rozalia Russian.

The Hachem family have come a long way since Joe, chiropractor and mortgage broker based in Preston, won around $10 million, outlasting thousands of other players to take down the World Series of Poker in Las Vegas in 2005.

The poker world is filled with cautionary tales, but Joe’s is not one of them.

Since the win he has been living the dream and capitalising on his success.

He signed a deal with Pokerstars and his life was set.

The Warne family have a close connection with the family, with the late spin king and Joe becoming close friends and hosting charity games together.

Jackson is now a serious competitor of the sport, as are some of Hachem’s other sons, regularly cleaning up in Las Vegas poker events.

Jackson was seen at the Lake Como throwing confetti and celebrating as the couple walked up the steps of the historic Villa Pizzo nestled in the charming village of Cernobbio within the Alps district.

And the wedding festivities, costing well over $1 million, have only just begun.

Inside the grand villa’s ballroom the bride and groom were later seen dancing and lifted on chairs, a traditional element in Lebanese weddings, symbolises joy and the couple’s new beginning.

James has made a name for himself with his multimillion dollar Alya skincare label and featuring in the Asia Forbes under 30 richlist.

He and Apostolou, considered one of Melbourne’s “it” girl influencers, married in a civil ceremony last month in front of close friends and family at Xavier College Memorial Chapel in Kew, followed by celebrations at Vue de monde.

“I can’t wait to spend the rest of my life with you,” James wrote on a note to his wife.

“I can’t wait to love you unconditionally.”
