Martha Baillieu, daughter of former Victorian premier Ted Baillieu and wife Robyn, has married in a beautiful picturesque wedding.
The eldest of the Baillieu children, ahead of Eleanor and Robert, Martha wed partner Tim Amor on Saturday with her family by her side at Rusty Gate, a private property on the Bellarine Peninsula.
She was walked down the aisle by both her parents before 139 guests after postponing the nuptials from November last year.
“Dad did a beautiful speech and mum was very enthusiastic, they definitely had more wedding nerves than me,’’ Martha, 31, told the Herald Sun.
“It was really beautiful. I lay awake the whole night before listening to the torrential rain and thunderstorms. It was an outdoor ceremony but it worked out to be really nice, mother nature turned it on.
“The dancefloor was pumping, it was really great. Everyone was really excited to have an opportunity to have a party.”
Martha, a marketing specialist, has been with orthotist Amor for nearly eight years.
Wearing a dress by Stella McCartney, she had her sister Eleanor, a former Miss Universe finalist and Empty Esky founder, as one of three bridesmaids wearing White Story, the brand of her relative Fiona Myer. The bridesmaids’ pearl tiaras were vintage pieces made by journalist Josephine Cafagna and her brand VintageCaf.
Both Eleanor and Robyn wished Amor a warm welcome to the family. The newlyweds intend to honeymoon in New Zealand.
Ted Baillieu was premier of Victoria from 2010-2013 and was a Liberal Party member of the Victorian Legislative Assembly from 1999-2014, representing the electorate of Hawthorn.
