Married At First Sight provocateur Jess Power says she felt “physically threatened” by rival bride Cyrell Paule and asked producers to drop her from the show.
Paule, who was “married” to Nic Jovanovic, regularly confronted Power and another bride contestant Martha Kalifatidis over cheating on the show.
“Cyrell grabbed Martha by the throat. She smashed a champagne glass and a champagne bottle, and went to go and punch a producer in the face,” Power claimed.

“I definitely felt threatened. If she’s the type of female who lashes out, why are you keeping her on a TV show?
Power said she voiced her concerns to producers, adding: “If it was a male who had done that, he’d be gone. Because she’s female, come on.”
The attack against Kalifatidis aired last month. But with Paule returning for the final episodes, where couples watch footage of their behaviour, tensions are set to explode.
In a wide-ranging interview, Power, who was “married” to Mick Gould, but hooked up with another “groom”, Dan Webb, said the show’s golden couple Cameron Merchant and Jules Robinson, would be seething over her and Webb’s twisted fairytale ending.
Power and Webb are living together on the Gold Coast.
“They’re judgey, because they’re black and white people. They don’t see any grey,” Power said of Merchant and Robinson.
“Now that Dan and I have come out of this experiment in love also, and we’re being put in the same pigeon hole as them, they’re really feeling a bit defensive of that title.”
Power said she will soon meet Webb’s five-year-old son from a previous relationship.
“I’m respecting Dan’s wishes to take it slow,” she said.
“And I guess I’m trying to step into the stepmum shoes. I’ve been in a past relationship where a child is involved, so I know what’s expected, and what I need to bring.”
Power also slammed Gould.
“I know his pride is hurt, but he’s done everything he can to try and bring me down and hurt me. He told the paparazzi the location of my house. I bought him a book for his birthday. He sold that. Every twist and turn, he’s slagging off my family.”
Power said pictures of Gould and Webb’s jilted “bride” Tamara Joy made her laugh.
“I just thought: ‘Are you seriously that pathetic?’”
In a finale episode airing on Channel 9 tonight, Webb and Paule will find out that Power tried unsuccessfully to seduce Jovanovic.
“The producer asked me: ‘Are you sexually attracted to Nic?’ I think Nic is a good looking guy, so I said: ‘Yes.’” Dan knows how producers manipulate things.
“We’re good and we’re in love.”
An Endemol Shone spokeswoman on Saturday night responded to Power’s claims about Paule’s behaviour on the show.
The spokeswoman said: “Despite many inaccuracies in what has been claimed, matters did escalate quickly. Production stepped in immediately to calm the situation and the individuals involved.
“Only after everyone was calm and safe and the situation fully under control did filming continue.
“The participants’ wellbeing and safety is always our first priority and at no time did any of the participants express concern for their safety.”
