Melbourne identities Mark Philippoussis, Bonnie Anderson, Brynne Edelsten and Heath Shaw are part of the high profile line-up for the new season of SAS Australia.
They join a mixed field including athletes, entertainers, reality stars and a former politician taking on the gruelling and challenging course.
Controversial retired NRL player Sam Burgess has made the cut, along with Olympic athletes including Kerri Pottharst, Jana Pittman and John Steffensen.
Former tennis ace Alicia Molik, ironman Jett Kenny, singer Pete Murray, surfer Koby Abberton, chef Manu Feildel, actors Isabelle Cornish and Dan Ewing, former Labor MP Emma Husar and former beauty queen Erin Holland are also competing in the extreme environment under the guidance of elite British ex-Special Forces soldiers Ant Middleton, Mark ‘Billy’ Billingham, Jason ‘Foxy’ Fox and Ollie Ollerton.
The first series last year, filmed near the Blue Mountains, was a hit for Channel 7, with AFLW player Sabrina Frederick, radio funnyman Merrick Watts and former Bachelor Nick ‘Honey Badger’ Cummins passing SAS selection.
Season two, being filmed over the next fortnight, will air on Seven later this year.
Former tennis star Philippoussis competed on The Masked Singer last year, while former AFL star Shaw, socialite Edelsten and former Neighbours actor and The Masked Singer winner Anderson are all set to bring strong talking points.
A newcomer is sprinter Jessica Peris, daughter of Olympic great Nova Peris.
