Luke Darcy is enjoying a change of pace after stepping down from 11 years of breakfast radio at the end of last year.

The former Triple M Hot Breakfast co-host returns to TV screens on Friday with the new season of The House of Wellness TV.

Darcy said the Channel 7 show would continue to encourage conversation around mental health this year.

“Historically people have really struggled to talk about challenges with their mental health, and I feel that barrier is being broken down – and it needs to be to work out things you can do preventively to improve your mental health,” he said.

“We’ve all got challenges, we all want to be happy, but what are we doing every day to support our wellbeing?

“It’s something I’m really passionate about, and The House of Wellness TV can give people a place to support that.”

Darcy and fellow co-host Jo Stanley said they were feeling refreshed and excited to be back exploring innovative and inspiring wellbeing content.

“It’s very exciting to have a sense of growth,” Stanley said.

“Last year in lockdown a lot of people felt a bit stuck, and I feel really rejuvenated by what feels like endless possibilities at the moment.”

Broadcasting from a new set, Stanley said she was looking forward to sharing inspiring stories around medical breakthroughs, technology, and the pioneering work many Australians were doing to improve health care.

“COVID has shown us there are some very clever people doing amazing things in labs and research, incredible things that are changing the type of care that we receive. That excites me,” she said.

Tune in to the House of Wellness on Channel 7 at 2pm on Friday and Sunday.
