Brooke Warne has shared a touching tribute to her late cricket great father Shane on the second anniversary of his passing.
Warne posted a series of beautiful pictures with her beloved dad, including one where there’s an uncanny resemblance between him and his eldest child.
“2 years today Dad,’’ Brooke wrote on social media.
“It’s been the slowest and quickest 2 years without you.
“I feel like you were just here being silly with us and talking about how good the new season of Peaky blinders is and we will watch the next episode together when you come home.
“Life really doesn’t make sense without you here. We try and do you proud every day. I miss you, I love you forever.”
Brooke’s siblings also marked the sad milestone — Jackson shared the Shane Warne Legacy post while Summer reposted the MCG’s picture of Warne with the late Rod Marsh and the caption “Remembering two legends today.”
Summer also captioned a happy image with her dad: “2 years today since you left. Our lives go on without you but nothing is the same. You were such a light in my life Dad and I would do anything to have you back here with us. Words can’t describe how much I miss you, your hugs, your voice and our talks. I love you endlessly. Always and Forever. SKW.”
Warne’s ex-wife Simone Callahan and mum to their three children, also expressed her sadness.
“Forever in our hearts, we love you, we miss you,’’ she posted with love hearts.
Warne died suddenly two years ago from a heart attack while on holiday in Thailand.
The Shane Warne Legacy was created last year and is dedicated to preserving the memory of Warne, whose life was marked by remarkable achievements and the enduring impact he left on people and places.
