Hollywood star Liam Neeson was snapped filming his latest blockbuster in a leafy South Yarra side street on Tuesday.
Neeson’s appearance had the area near The Tan buzzing with a block of flats on St Leonards Court used to film the $43 million action movie Blacklight.
The Northern Irish actor reportedly had lunch beside the Yarra River and wore a mask as he was driven away from the busy set around 5.30pm.
All the crew were spotted wearing masks with the area to resemble a period building in Washington.
Neeson, 68, quarantined in Sydney for two weeks and arrived in Melbourne at the weekend.
Filming started on Tuesday and is also taking place at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre this week, with Jeff’s Shed turned into a backlot.
The Herald Sun revealed Macedon will also be a location with the park area “The Res” to represent a trailer park in Maryland.
Filming of an intense action scene is due to take place there next week.
Written, directed and produced by Ozark co-creator Mark Williams, the film stars Neeson playing Travis Block, a “troubled off-the-books fixer for the FBI”.
Blacklight is a huge boost for our film and TV industry, bringing in more than 500 local jobs, and with around the clock security.
