Kylie Minogue tests positive for Covid in the UK

She had just relocated to live in Melbourne but now pop princess Kylie Minogue is laid up in the UK after testing positive for Covid.

Aussie pop star Kylie Minogue is recovering from Covid in the UK.

The 53 year-old will not front for a scheduled appearance on Comic Relief after testing positive.

Minogue said she was “so sorry” to miss the annual charity broadcast, where she was due to appear in a sketch with the cast of BBC comedy Ghosts, starring Charlotte Ritchie and Kiell Smith-Bynoe.

She tweeted on Friday: “So sorry to miss my planned visit to #BBCGhosts Button House for #ComicRelief2022 as I’ve been recovering from Covid. I WILL, however, be watching @BBCOne 7pm Friday to see what fun @comicrelief has in store for us! Don’t forget to tune in & support the incredible work they do!”

Minogue has been overseas since attending the Versace show at Milan Fashion Week last month.

Prior to Christmas she relocated to her home city of Melbourne after living in the UK for more than three decades.

She spent more time with family throughout the pandemic, which prompted the move.

Her sister, Dannii Minogue, said it had been a joy having Kylie home.

“She’s away at the moment but she’ll be back soon,” she told the Herald Sun two weeks ago.

“It’s been such a buzz about it and a response that took us by surprise because she’d already been here for ages but under the radar and just resting.”

Kylie’s boyfriend, GQ executive Paul Solomons, won’t be joining her in Australia, but they intend to continue a long-distance relationship.

It’s believed she splashed out $8m for a mansion in Melbourne’s eastern suburbs for her return.
