Kylie Minogue watches Moulin Rouge musical having recently returned to Melbourne

Having moved back from the UK, pop princess Kylie Minogue has enjoyed a choc top in the city while taking a trip down memory lane.

Kylie Minogue took a joyful trip down memory lane Moulin Rouge style after seeing the musical at the Regent Theatre on Tuesday night.

Melbourne’s new returned resident was blown away by the performance and met the cast and crew after the show.

The pop princess took a step back in time having made a cameo as the playful and seductive Absinthe The Green Fairy in Baz Luhrmann’s epic Moulin Rouge! musical in 2001.

“Great memories of working with the one and only @bazluhrmann,’’ she wrote on social media.

Minogue, 53, was singing the songs from Act 1 as she walked through the stylish corridors of the Theatre and described the show and cast as “fab” and “gorgeous” before devouring a choc top.

She has quietly returned home after more than 30 years of living in England.

In October she announced that was ready to return to the city where she grew up after spending a lot of time here with family last year.

“It felt really good and I have been talking about that for a while,’’ she told the BBC. “Don’t worry, I will not be a stranger … I’m always going to be back.”

It’s believed she arrived in Melbourne at the end of January and is also understood to have bought a grand $8m home in the eastern suburbs to be close to her parents in Canterbury and her sister Dannii in Hawthorn East.
