KIIS host Polly ‘PJ’ Harding quits making way for new breakfast

Some big names are being touted to replace KIIS host Polly “PJ” Harding after she announced her departure from breakfast radio.

PJ quits Jase and PJ radio show

Breakfast radio host Polly “PJ” Harding has quit her show to return to New Zealand.

The shock announcement of her exit from KIIS FM’s Jase & PJ in the morning, has opened the door for a swag of big names to fill the role when she leaves in June.

One of the names being floated is Kate Langbroek, the successful breakfast and drive host who has returned from Italy to the 3pm Pick Up.

Monty Dimond, co-host of that show, is currently on maternity leave and has moved to Byron Bay, but she has previously done breakfast radio.

Lauren Phillips impressed while she filled in on Summer Breakfast with Mornings host Ryan Jon.

Could Bec Judd even be lured back to the airwaves? She quit the 3pm Pick Up in November after four years.

Jane Hall was part of Chrissie & Jane, with Chrissie Swan, from 2012-14 on what was Mix FM. The actor and midwife hasn’t closed the door to doing radio again.

Is there a new voice in the wings? Perhaps a reality TV star, like Jess Eva who successfully transitioned from The Block to breakfast radio.

Harding said it had been a tough decision. She and Jase Hawkins signed a new two year deal with ARN in February last year.

“I have absolutely loved my three years in Melbourne,’’ Harding said.

“Getting to work alongside my best mate Jase and interacting daily with our listeners really has been a dream job which I will be eternally grateful for.”

Harding got engaged last year and wants to spend more time with family.

“For every single person, last year was incredibly tough and in September I was

fortunate enough to get back home to New Zealand to spend time with my family and

partner BJ,’’ she said.

“During this time, I got engaged which was hands down the light at the end

of a really dark year, and reinforced how important home really is.

“It’s not been an easy decision to make but I know for me it’s the right one and will kickstart

a brand new chapter. I will miss Jase and the whole team so much, but rest assured we will

definitely stay in contact as Jase is adamant to be my head bridesmaid.”

ARN said a replacement for Harding will be announced soon.
