Josh Gibson says Hawks fans could be in for a father-son bonanza with his and Buddy Franklin’s sons coming into the world this year.
Swans superstar Franklin and wife Jesinta welcomed their baby boy last week and former defender Gibson will become a father in September with his partner Ashley Bright.
“The boys will be a few months apart so there might be a little bit of fighting over the father-son,’’ Gibson said.
“It’s very exciting. Ashley is due in September, so lucky I’m not playing anymore.
“We’re just focusing on one for now. We’re excited for what’s taking place between now and September.”
Gibson announced his happy baby news earlier this month. The triple premiership star, 37, played 225 games for Hawthorn and North Melbourne.
He wrote: “Little Gibbo coming September 2021. Hawks fans will be very happy to know, that scans show a large left! #goldenfist.”
Gibson and Bright live on a property near Ballarat and are in the process of building a menagerie.
He was back in footy mode in Melbourne on Tuesday to help launch the Bottomless Footy Feast offering made available at The Duke of Wellington and Wharf Hotel for the duration of the footy season.
“People can get together in groups and watch the footy,’’ Gibson said.
“It’s nice to see crowds back and it makes it more enjoyable but if you can’t go along these are a great option.”
Gibson last year joined the cast of The Celebrity Apprentice, and moved on with Bright after a tumultuous end to his two-year relationship with mum of two Olga Kononchuk.
