Where ‘Hollywood royalty’ Dennis Quaid has been playing golf in Melbourne
Star Dennis Quaid has taken a break from filming his new sci-fi action thriller, War Machine, to play golf at two of Melbourne’s golf courses — and they’re probably not the ones you’d expect.

The club captain at Werribee Park Golf Club noticed a strapping golf enthusiast in the pro shop at about 4pm on Tuesday.
Coryn Hall innocently asked, ‘has anyone ever told you, (that) you look like Dennis Quaid?”
And then came the friendly smile. “I am him”.
The Hollywood actor popped in for a hit of golf with the man driving him around Melbourne.
In town to shoot new sci-fi action thriller, War Machine, Quaid played 18 holes at Werribee Park Golf Club on Tuesday evening and also at Sanctuary Lakes Golf Club on Monday.
Filming is currently underway at Point Cook with other sets to be constructed in Bright and Myrtleford as well as Melbourne and Docklands Studios.
Hall said Quaid, who’s starred in big films Reagan, The Parent Trap and The Long Game which was based on golf, was “lovely”.
“He came in around 4pm and by 8pm we’d invited him into the clubhouse and he was having a chat with everyone,’’ Hall said.
Quaid also chatted with Lynn Cornfield who was there for a meeting with fellow board members.
“He was really down to earth and absolutely charming,’’ Cornfield said.
“We took a group photo and then he grabbed my phone and said we’ll do one together. We once had Tiger Woods’ caddy here but he’d probably be the most famous person. Everyone was saying to me, ‘look at you with Hollywood royalty’.”
Quaid, 70, once married to fellow actor Meg Ryan, is starring in War Machine alongside Reacher actor Alan Ritchson and Australian actors Jai Courtney, Blake Richardson and Keiynan Lonsdale.
From Lionsgate and Netflix, it is produced, directed and co-written by Victorian filmmaker Patrick Hughes.
The production is expected to inject $73 million into the Victorian economy.
