Jodi Gordon has officially bid farewell to Neighbours after her last day on set on Friday.
The actor joined the soap in 2016 as regular cast member Elly Conway and announced earlier this year she would be leaving and returning to live in Sydney.
Behind the scenes Gordon has developed a close relationship with on-screen sister Bonnie Anderson and the pair have spent a lot of time on set together, including Gordon’s final scenes this week.
“And we out … some of the best memories of my life,” Gordon posted on social media.
“Thank you @neighbours I love you all, especially you @bonnieandersonmusic.”
Gordon has spoken of wanting to move back to Sydney so she can spend more time co-parenting five-year-old daughter, Aleeia, with ex-husband, Braith Anasta.
“For me, 2020 is the year of risk-taking, change, positivity and new directions,” she told Confidential earlier this year.
Gordon also insisted that her departure from the long-running soap had nothing to do with last year’s hiatus — when she was forced to take time off from filming due to “exhaustion”.
“It is completely unrelated,” Anasta said.
“At the moment I am feeling happier, healthier and better than ever and just excited about change, a fresh new opportunity or discovering something else.”
Since joining Neighbours, Gordon has been part of some of the show’s most nail-biting storylines.
Most recently her character fell for the evil ways of Finn Kelly and she and her daughter, Aster were kidnapped by him.
It is an interesting time for Gordon to finish up on set with Neighbours returning to production under strict new regulations to adhere with government guidelines.
These regulations include daily temperature checks for everyone on site.
The number of cast filming scenes has been limited, however additional cast have been scheduled separately and the scenes will be edited together, to give the illusion of a larger group or that they are much closer together.
