Jacqui Felgate to host The House of Wellness TV show

Former Channel 7 sport presenter Jacqui Felgate is returning to TV with a health and wellness show, but there’s a twist in the tale.

Former Channel 7 sport and footy presenter Jacqui Felgate is returning to television after joining The House of Wellness.

Felgate left the network last month and has since joined 3AW breakfast presenting the foodie segment with Ross Stevenson and Russel Howcroft each Friday.

Her new role as host, along with Jo Stanley, Luke Darcy and Luke Hines, starts this Friday. But in an ironic twist it will take her back to the screens of Channel 7 where it airs.

“After such a long time doing news to be able to move into that lifestyle space, particularly after the last two years, it’s a great challenge and really exciting,’’ Felgate said.

“There’s nothing more important than your health and the health of your family and I’m genuinely interested in what we cover. This allows me to stay on the telly but also allows me to pick up the kids from school and be a mum.”

Felgate joined Channel 7 nine and a half years ago and said it was time to give back to her young family, husband Michael and their two daughters.

She presented sport on weekends and Footy Central during the footy coverage, with both roles now filled by Abbey Gelmi.

“I’m so happy, I didn’t realise how exhausted I was and how stressful the juggle was,’’ Felgate said.

“I’ve loved going out to restaurants and doing work for 3AW. One door closes and a window opens and you’ve got to crawl through it.”

Felgate said having the chance to MC events and build a community on social media off the back of updates through Covid, had given her the confidence to move on.
