Collingwood great Dane Swan has told how he saved a woman’s life last week.
Swan was at a restaurant having a dinner when he heard a woman choking nearby.
“It was Friday night,’’ Swan told his Hump Day with Swanny and Friends.
“I saved a lovely woman’s life. I was eating dinner next to her and she started to choke.
“I was conversing with other people and I turned around and she was properly choking.
“I whipped into life-saving mode, I hit her on the back and I didn’t want to break her ribs.
“Someone was like ‘hit her harder’ and obviously then it all come out. So I saved her life.”
Swan joked that he thought a piece of vomit may have landed in his meal.
“I kept eating. I thought the news next day might have been Dane Swan assaults woman in restaurant.
“I legitimately saved her life which was nice of me, I didn’t have to.”
Swan had a big week after heading to Queensland with some former teammates and watching the Magpies play Brisbane at the Gabba.
The Brownlow medallist also kicked three goals, including one from outside 50m, to help Hastings to its second successive win on Saturday.
The former Magpies midfielder, who is playing seven one-off games with clubs around Australia this season, was among the best players as they thrashed Tyabb by 81 points in Division 2 of the Mornington Peninsula league.
“It was a big weekend and then finished off with the Pies on Monday,’’ Swan said.
