GWS Giants co-captain Stephen Coniglio married his partner Rebecca Demlakian in a glamorous and picture-perfect wedding on Saturday.
Featuring acrobats from the ceiling, a champagne tower and smoke machine, the couple tied the knot at St Mary’s Cathedral in Sydney with a reception at Town Hall.
In attendance were many of Coniglio’s past and present teammates, and other footy stars, including groomsman Jaeger O’Meara, former forward Jonathon Patton and defender Phil Davis, plus Giants no.1 ticketholder and former Sunrise host Melissa Doyle.
Demlakian, who was a standout at the Brownlow Medal last year, looked radiant in a white beaded gown as guests were in awe of the lavish celebration. Coniglio’s talented songstress sister Lauren also performed.
Coniglio said he couldn’t wait “for the rest of our lives together”.
Demlakian, who runs cooking classes via her website and also works in design, wrote when they got engaged last year: “A million times yes. Forever with you isn’t long enough. I love you.”
Patton posted a touching tribute: “What a beautiful night celebrating the love of (Stephen and Rebecca). There were plenty of laughs, stories and even a few tears. Love you both.”
Davis wrote: “What a brilliant day celebrating the beautiful (Stephen and Rebecca)! Incredible wedding.”
