A relaxed and smiling Lyon said: “I’m just happy to be here.”
The pair have kept a low key profile since it was sensationally revealed two years ago that Brownless, the ex-wife of Footy Show star Billy Brownless, was romantically linked to his colleague and best friend Lyon.
Nicky, 48 and Lyon, 50 divide their time between Melbourne, Geelong and a farm on the Mornington Peninsula.
Lyon has previously opened up to the Herald Sun about enjoying farm life.
“I’ve turned into a pretend farmer. I’ve got 50 acres down there and got a tractor,” he said.
“I spent the best part of six weeks (over the off season) trying to work out how that works and what it can do. If Brian Taylor saw me on the tractor he’d probably be horrified. But I love it. The peace and quiet is great.”
After it emerged they were in a relationship Lyon took leave from his television roles on The Footy Show and Footy Classified, revealing he had been battling depression for months.
He returned to his media roles last year and joined SEN breakfast. He has now left Channel 9 to join Fox Footy.
Brownless has four children with Billy and last year she accompanied her model daughters Lucy and Ruby to the Melbourne Cup Carnival.
Lyon has said very little publicly about the relationship. He and his wife Melissa separated in 2014 and have three sons.
Brownless and Lyon mingled with guests at the restaurant/bar launch including Stephen Quartermain, ex-Melbourne captain David Neitz, Melbourne ruckman Max Gawn, Heloise Pratt and Jon Stevens, Lauren Phillips, Brodie Harper and Neil Perry.
