Breakfast radio star Fifi Box is officially off the market.
“I do have some news … I’m in a relationship. Not single anymore,” Box told her Fox FM co-hosts Brendan Fevola and Nick Cody on Thursday.
Box, who is a mother to two young girls, said her new love is named Rocky, and she met him at school pick-up.
Other mums, including Box, had nicknamed Rocky the ‘hot dad.”
“It started as a crush, a guy piqued my interest. He was one of the dads at school pick up. ‘Hot Dad’ was his nickname.”
Box said she maintained a crush on Rocky for 12 months.
“I don’t get crushes very often,” she said. “You guys know that. You always say, ‘What about him? What about him?’”
Box said she almost revealed her crush on Rocky during a lie detector radio stunt in February, but that segment didn’t go to air.
Fevola and Cody said Box’s year-long inaction over introducing herself to Rocky was frustrating.
“You wouldn’t even talk to him,” Fevola said.
Box: “I had no point of contact. He wasn’t friends with any of my friends.”
Fevola: “Just go, ‘hey bro!’”
Box: “I could ascertain he was a single dad. But he wouldn’t look back at me. It was very frustrating.”
Fevola joked: “He didn’t know you were (stalking him) in the trees. He couldn’t see you.”
Box: “I couldn’t figure out how to speak to him. He wouldn’t look, he wouldn’t make eye contact. I couldn’t get anything.”
Her breakthrough moment came when Box’s 3-year-old Dasiy had a meltdown in the playground.
“I have … Daisy to thank,” Box said. “She threw the mother of all tantrums, she turned it on. I dragged her across the playground thinking, ‘This is so embarrassing.
“And (Rocky) was sitting there watching, I looked up at him and he was laughing.”
Later, Box announced to her WhatsApp group of friends: “I met ‘Hot Dad’ and his name is Rocky.
“Off the market,” Box told Fevola and Cody. “Officially off the market.”
