Tennis ace Maria Sharapova is known for exploring Melbourne and yesterday she heaped praise on the NGV after a visit.
A wildcard entrant at this year’s Australian Open, the former world no. 1 will make her 16th appearance at Melbourne Park.
She will also play at Kooyong next week along with Caroline Wozniacki, CoCo Vandeweghe and Ajla Tomljanovic.

Sharapova then put out a call to her followers to suggest other places she should visit while in town.
She posted pictures and videos through the exhibition. In the past she has been seen exploring the city laneways and local beaches.

Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal, Serena Williams, Naomi Osaka and Nick Kyrgios are all playing with funds going to bushfire relief and recovery efforts.
