Former Aussie tennis ace Jelena Dokic has hit out at fat shamers, saying she is disgusted by the abuse she has copped this week.

The Channel 9 commentator said it had become a serious problem and warned people to stop judging her.

“I can’t believe I have to address this again!” Dokic posted to social media on Friday night.

“I am being body shamed again and I am seeing comments and even articles about my weight and appearance. It’s disgusting behaviour.”

In capital letters she wrote: “Just stop already. Not just when it comes to me but other people as well, especially women.”

On Saturday, Dokic revealed her deep heartbreak and hurt after her relationship with Tin Bikic, her partner of 18 and a half years, had ended.

Now fighting a new battle with body shamers, she detailed the crude comments she had been subjected to.

“This is a serious problem and one that women face all the time,” she said.

“I have said it before and I’ll say it again, stop commenting on my weight and size.

“It is not kind and it’s ignorant.

“Stop judging me based on my size.

“You shouldn’t be judging me at all.

“Is my worth and if I am a good person really determined by my size?

“I get comments like, why are you so fat?

Or, you are unrecognisable? And my favourite is, what happened to you?

“Well a shitload has happened but I am here and I am fighting but that’s not what you care about. You only care about my weight and how to make fun of it.”

Last February Dokic hit back at critics of her appearance, telling them to “get over it”.

The former world no. 4 revealed early in 2020 that she had lost 53kg after tipping the scales at 120kg.

But she admits she struggled with her weight during Melbourne lockdown.

“I have never hid the fact that I struggle with my weight,” Dokic wrote.

“NEVER. It’s been a battle for me for a while especially since battling depression.

“But I am not ashamed of my size.”

On Saturday she expressed her heartache and struggles after the relationship breakdown.

She wrote: “This is hard, I am in pain, I am hurt, I am lost and right now it’s all about just being able to get out of bed in the morning and putting one foot in front of the other.

“After almost 19 years together, Tin and I have decided to go our separate ways.

“Sometimes these things happen, people grow apart and it’s for the best.

“I would be lying if I said I was doing well, but I will give it my absolute all to heal and recover and process this pain and trauma and if nothing else I will die trying.”
