Eddie McGuire heads to a new footy panel show

He was the face of the now-axed Footy Show for years, and now a big footballing name is heading back to Channel 9 to host a different show, but he’s not the only new face behind the desk.

The worst kept secret in footy circles has been confirmed — Eddie McGuire will host a new edition of Footy Classified on Wednesday nights.

McGuire will be joined by Caroline Wilson, Matthew Lloyd and new inclusion, former St Kilda and Fremantle coach Ross Lyon.

It will premiere on March 18 at 10pm.

Monday night’s Footy Classified will still be hosted by Craig Hutchison, with Wilson, Lloyd and new panellist Kane Cornes replacing Chris Judd.

Sam McClure will join both shows as the program’s newsbreaker.

Shane Crawford is making his footy TV comeback, with two new digital shows.

He will present Full Time with Crawf each Sunday night from March 22 along with reporter Ayrton Woolley, plus Home Ground, which will document the life of AFL players away from the game.

Another new digital program is Talk of the Town, on Wednesday afternoons, featuring Sam McClure, Warren Tredrea and Seb Costello.

The Sunday Footy Show returns for a 28th season on March 22 with an unchanged line-up.

Host Tony Jones is joined by Damian Barrett and former AFL stars Matthew Lloyd, Nathan Brown, Kane Cornes and Billy Brownless.

Former The Footy Show star Sam Newman, who is in the final year of his contract with Nine, will make special guest appearances throughout the year and through the digital channels.

Former Herald Sun journalist Sam Edmund will host Oval Office.
