Former Essendon star David Zaharakis and Real Housewives of Melbourne quitter Anjali Rao are set to appear on the next series of Australian Survivor.

As two fan favourites were confirmed by Network 10 on Monday night, the word is Zaharakis and Rao, along with actor Sharni Vinson, will also be part of an all-star cast of the new instalment, Australian Survivor: Heroes vs Villains.

Much chatter has surrounded the make-up of the series and those involved after filming wrapped in Samoa last month.

Season eight will reportedly also feature writer and broadcaster Benjamin Law and two-time Olympian Liz Parnov, according to So Dramatic.

Zaharakis, 32— who retired at the end of last season after 13 seasons with the Bombers — and his athlete partner Amy Pejkovic, were guests at the races at Flemington.

The easy-on-the-eye couple have become regulars on the social scene. He was confirmed as a hero while Shonee Fairfax was confirmed as a villain.
