Former footy star Dale Thomas has proposed to his long-time girlfriend Natasha Bongiorno.
The former Collingwood and Carlton high-flyer, who now works in the media on radio and television, popped the question in Daylesford.
“Well... it’s about time,’’ Thomas captioned pictures capturing the moment he got down on one knee.
Bongiorno, a former PR executive, was visibly emotional and shocked at the turn of events at popular destination, Lake House Daylesford.
“YESSSSS!!” she captioned her post, with a ring emoji.
The couple were inundated with messages of congratulations.
Thomas played 258 games, including winning the 2010 premiership with Collingwood.
He has since joined Triple M footy as a commentator and also Channel 7 with his show alongside Heath Shaw and Georgie Parker called The Sunday Session.
He also co-hosted the red carpet arrivals at the Brownlow this year with Emma Freedman.
In 2020 Thomas was runner-up on I’m a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! after impressing with his personality and quick wit.
That year he sold his Glen Iris home with the view to spending more time down the coast.
He has a daughter Tilly from a previous relationship.
“The beauty of where I’m at with my life is that I don’t really have a plan,’’ Thomas said at the time.
“Natasha and I are completely undecided. Some people might be daunted by that but I’m ready to explore.
“I’m a bit of a gypsy, I like to go with the flow and move with whatever comes into my life. Having played footy for so long and living the regimented lifestyle, I’m loving the freedom retirement is bringing me.”
