CHRIS Hemsworthand Elsa Pataky are set to follow their Hollywood mates by setting up their own production company.
Pataky has confirmed she and her Thor star husband are considering a move that would see them work behind the camera as well as on the major studio pictures that have made them household names.
“It is something we have been talking about,” Pataky said.
“It is good to find your own projects, something you are passionate about so we are reading a lot of scripts. That is actually the best option right now.”
It is almost the norm now for A-list stars to form their own production companies.
Those who have include Nicole Kidman, Brad Pitt, Hugh Jackman, George Clooney, Will Smith, Ben Stiller and Sofia Vergara.
Pataky and Hemsworth, who live in Byron Bay with their three young children, recently shot their first film together, Horse Soldiers, directed by Nicolai Fuglsig.
“We play husband and wife so it was like we weren’t even playing,” said Pataky, who was in Sydney for her L’Oreal Botanicals ambassadorship.
“It was natural, it felt so comfortable. We were in bed together and usually with those scenes it is awkward but it was easy. It is a scene in the bed but not a sex scene ... that would be too easy.”
Hemsworth and Matt Damon were photographed in Byron last weekend with their families.
“I said to Luci (Damon’s wife, Luciana Barroso), ‘I guess it is impossible to have Thor and The Bourne Identity together and not be photographed’. It was a joke we had.”
