Locky Gilbert says he is filled with self doubt and has lost all confidence after his stint on SAS: Australia.
The former Survivor and Bachelor star feels he copped a poor edit on the show.
“Watching it back was a little bit rough,’’ he said.
“I am cocky and an alpha male but I’m not like that all the time.
“If they say you’re being a cocky a---hole then you are. It kind of messed with my head and I don’t have the confidence to take on anything else.”
“I tried to get rid of this toxic masculinity and tried to show my vulnerable side and I just got shot down by the DS (directing staff) and bullied for it. I feel less confident for sure.
“I’ve never doubted myself in my life and coming off this I doubt myself all the time.”
Gilbert who is still in with a shot of passing selection, clashed with comedian Paul Fenech who branded him a bully and a d---head.
“He’s gone off on his own and attacked me personally and it wasn’t just me who had a blow up with him, everyone did,’’ Gilbert said.
“It goes to show what type of person he is. I learnt a lot from Barry Hall. I knew I was physically capable and what you didn’t see much of is how I helped the others. I could definitely tell how they were going to portray me.”
Gilbert said he and partner Irena Srbinovska are closer than ever.
“She knows what I’m like and what they showed was 5-10 per cent of me and the rest is a genuine guy,’’ he said.
“She had to deactivate her account recently because I was getting death threats and she was getting some pretty nasty messages.”
