AFL champion Brendan Fevola has been forced to face some shocking stats: he’s clocked up more hours playing Call Of Duty than time playing footy across his 204-game career.
Fevola, a Blues and Lions legend, and now FOX FM co-host alongside Fifi Box and Nick Cody, was confronted with his video game numbers on the breakfast radio show on Tuesday.
According to an app that tracks the time gamers spend playing Call Of Duty — a first-person shooter video game — Fevola has racked up 557 hours on COD in the last six months.
“It’s a bit scary; but what about all the other things I do, the vacuuming, the cooking, the washing, the cleaning, and I can still get COD in?” Fevola said. “I’m pretty good.”
He added: “Early days, I didn’t know what I was doing. I was running around getting shot and had no idea what was going on.”
Cody said Fevola 204-game tally in the AFL meant he clocked up 408 hours on the footy field.
“You’ve played more COD than AFL,” Cody said.
Fevola shot back: “Righto, Mr Mathematician; what about all the training, the meetings and all the crap you do? I started playing at the age of 5; it’s all hard work.”
Box noted Fevola had been “killed” 6000 times in Call Of Duty; and won 28 out of 2500 games.
She told Fevola: “There’s some life choices you might want to reflect on.”
Fevola’s latest “addiction” follows well-documented incidents with gambling and drinking.
He has since turned around those problems of the past.
